Image processing on PNG - prior to saving as jpg

Hello,

I've attempted to do some image processing of allsky images; however, doing these manipulations on jpg files typically gives unsatisfactory results. Banding is the most notable issue.

Are there any plans to allow these manipulations (levels, stretching...) to be done on a PNG, prior to saving the results as jpg?

You could change the filename in the camera settings from image.jpg to image.png. The final image will end up as a png though.

What image processing are you doing as there are quite a few options in the config.sh to things like cropping, stretching ...

@pablo-blake Paul, Note that saving .png files can take up to about 10 seconds since there is no hardware support for them. If your daytime and nighttime delays are longer than that there will be no issues.
