Conditional color for values in overlay

Would be nice if variables in the overlay could be set to a given color based on a condition.

For example, I have a safety value of Safe or Unsafe in a variable. Would like to color it green or red based on the value. :)

You can do this if you put the data in an "extra" file of type json. That file can specify color, font, size, etc.

It can but only by using Extra data files in a json format. Search in the documentation for 'Extra Data variables - advanced topic' and there are some examples

Ah well I am simply a moron. I am in fact using an extra data file for this info, and just glossed right over the section talking about how the JSON file could specify those attributes.
