Redirect from cloudapp to custom domain name

Hi all,
Is there any other way to redirect hostname since AGIC is not supporting configuration-snippet as Nginx?

backend-hostname and backend-path-prefix annotations allow for domain redirect without any path/query strings.
Regex would probably resolve this but it is not supported. Any request with a specified path will not be redirected.

The desired effect can be of course achieved via the Portal but this solution seems a little bit useless.
AGIC will overwrite those settings upon re-deployment/update.

Is there any recommended workaround?
