Q: Why am I seeing additional failed login attempts after a ban?
A: When a determined hacker is attacking rapidly, sometimes extra attempts can sneak in before the firewall rule is actually updated. So even though the ban process has been initiated, additional attacks can sometimes sneak through and will show up on the next cycle as a failed login attempt.
