This test is similar to #23 and #7, in that it tests that pspec is able to recover a given P(k) without noise or foregrounds. In this case, the P(k) is non-Gaussian and comes from a 21cmFAST realisation.

  • Simulation Component: EoR, from 21cmFAST
  • Simulators: PRISim
  • Pipeline Components: pspec
  • Depends on: Formally, depends on Step -1.2: PRISim Validation #36, though we can perform the test before that is addressed.

Why this test is required

We would like to test that even with a P(k) with realistic "features", and whose distribution is non-Gaussian, that pspec still recovers P(k) to the same accuracy.

Summary

A brief step-by-step description of the proposed test follows:

  • Compute a 21cmFAST lightcone
  • Use PRISim and it's built-in lightcone tiler to produce visibilities
  • Analyse visibilities with pspec.

Simulation Details

  • Freq. range:
  • Channel width:
  • Baseline/antenna configuration:
  • Total integration time:
  • Number of realisations:

Criteria for Success

  • P(k) should match known input to within 1%.
