This is a test of pspecs ability to recover a Gaussian random sky with known P(k), where that P(k) has a reasonably "sharp" feature within the range of interest.

  • Simulation Component: EoR (with "sharp" feature)
  • Simulators: RIMEz
  • Pipeline Components: pspec
  • Depends on: Formally, depends on Step -1.1: Validation of RIMEz #35 , though it can be done before that is addressed.

Why this test is required

In principle, passing 0.1 and 0.2 does not mean that pspec is able to recover sharp features well, and there may be features in the power spectrum. This test also experiments with different window functions in pspec.

Summary

A brief step-by-step description of the proposed test follows:

  • Simulate a Gaussian sky with known input P(k)
  • Construct visibilities with RIMEz
  • Generate P(k) with pspec.

Simulation Details

  • Freq. range:
  • Channel width:
  • Baseline/antenna configuration:
  • Total integration time:
  • Number of realisations:

Criteria for Success

  • P(k) matches known input to within 1%
