Timers not allowed on forms with MaterialSkin.2?

I'm unable to add a timer to any form including Windows forms after adding the NuGet package for MaterialSkin.2.

Is this expected behavior?

If not, is there a workaround?

This is an unexpected problem. Probably something is going wrong.

Are you adding it via the Toolbox, or programatically? I've had issues with the WinForm timer you can drop in. What I do is declare a timer in code instead of creating an object.
