June 2024 - Triple trouble hits EV transition in Germany

June saw plugin EVs take 19.8% share in Germany, down YoY from 24.6%, as macroeconomic woes, stubbornly high entry EV prices, and incentive cancellation, all took their toll. Overall auto volume was 297,329 units, up by some 6% YoY, but still at least 10% below 2017–2019 seasonal norms (~330,000 units). The bestselling BEV in June was again the Volkswagen ID.3.
The market saw combined EVs take 19.8% share in Germany, with full electrics (BEVs) at 14.

Without the Nord Stream 2, Germany is now buying overpriced liquefied natural gas from the countries who actually destroyed the pipeline and caused an environmental catastrophe. Just imagine what would happen if Germany did this to the US...

The sad part is that most Germans that feel humiliated by their corrupt politicians will probably turn to the right-wing extremists instead of a patriotic classic left that defends the environment, workers rights and the country's sovereignty.

Back in the day Green used to go together with Peace, but the current Green party are some of the biggest warmongers in Europe.
Politicians and media for sale to the highest bidder (which is always the US which prints its money without restraint).
This whole corrupt mess has an expiry date which is soon approaching.
