Installing GPIO buttons after phoniebox installation fails

I'm unable to install the GPIO buttons after having successfully installed Phoniebox (I opted not to install them during main installation, I followed the one-liner install here).

When trying to install the GPIO buttons as described in the manual (install.sh) I get the following errors:

Problem during installation occured 
   Service not running, please check functionallity by running gpio_control.py 
   in the directory ~/RPi-Jukebox-RFID/components/gpio_control: 
      $ cd ~/RPi-Jukebox-RFID/components/gpio_control
      $ python gpio_control.py
   or check output of journaclctl by:
      $ journalctl -u phoniebox-gpio-control.service -f

Any idea what I could do short of reinstalling everything?

I think after integrating the installation in the main install script the standalone install.sh wasn’t maintained anymore.

a reinstall is probably much easier than trying to make it work again.

Yes, reinstalling fixed the issues!
