The way monster color is classified just make no sense. Like say i know the monster has green. So I look at Nependeath it has green stem and a pink head. So I assume its green and pink. No its just pink. Like this is an issue with so many monster where I can't rely on what I see to determine what the web site think the colors are. Even worse with very colorful monster it seems like 2 random color is picked. Or other monster where 75% of its body is white and white is not one of its color.

Like the color of the monster should be listed when we type out the monster name so we at least know wtf the website think it should be or else that column exist solely to mislead people's guess.

Currently I implement colors as primary and secondary colors:

  • Primary as in the main color of the monster (eg. Orange in Orange Mushroom, its in the name!)
  • Secondary as in like any distinct colors apart from the Primary color that is significant to the monster
    • (eg. Tippo Red & Tippo Blue, their primary colors are both Yellow but their only difference is the small difference in color between Red and Blue)
    • I also don't tend to regard the body of a monster as the secondary color, if that makes any sense? Like for Pepe, it is technically Blue and White, but I think most people don't think of Pepe as being White when thinking of Pepe. Or think about the White in Blue Snail, the White in Orange Mushroom. So with this reasoning I applied it to Nependeath (like Nependeath is similar to a flower and we tend to call a flower's color based on its petal's colors and not the branch/vine) (The only exception are trees (Berserkie, Duku) as Brown, Green,)
    • I also regard a secondary color as significant by looking at the monster drop's color (eg. Flower Fish with its pink petal)
    • I tend to try and keep the same color combinations for monsters of similar family (Like Jr. Cactus, Cactus, Royal Cactus) so that guessing one can help to guess these other similar monsters.
    • For humans, I tend to choose the hair color as Primary Color, suit color as Secondary Color

I am open to hear any better alternatives if you have a good reasoning behind it, I can always change it in the database
Hope this clarifies!

I can understand the logic but it still feels very confusing at time. Honestly not sure, personally be nice if the colors were there when you search them up but idk if that make it too easy. Like when i type in green mushroom it be like (green). But be nice if you can add faq page and maybe have what you posted here posted there so people can have some guidence when relying on color.

Also thanks for the site, its been very fun with friends everyday!

Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it 😊.

And appreciate the suggestions too, I will definitely add a FAQ soon and maybe I'll consider adding a search by color 🤔
And I might add Green to Nependeath and other plants (Mighty maple eater) 🤔 if there is 1 more comment about it, (Edit: nvm I added it) but for others I don't think I will change the colors
