Same problem.
I dug into the code, used the repo version instead of pip (there is a 3 year difference!), I talked to Chat-Geppiddy, and I got nowhere.
I accidentally found https://github.com/recitale/recitale which is a fork of prosopopee (which appears to be itself a fork of of a not anymore existing repo under https://github.com/exposure)
i ran: venv: 0. python3 -m venv recitale.venv and started bin/activate.*
venv
python3 -m venv recitale.venv
pip3 install recitale
git clone https://github.com/recitale/recitale.git
cd recitale/examples
recitale
