Operating System Version

macOS 15, Ubuntu 24.04 (other versions might be affected too)

It happens on the web browser too?

No, it just happens on the Desktop app

Describe the bug

Hello Devs!

Desktop notifications work only as long as e2ee is not activated. Took me a while to reproduce it. Have a look at the "how to reproduce" section.

How to Reproduce

  1. Install 4.1.2 and login
  2. Test Desktop Notification -> works
  3. Enable, activate e2ee and enter password
  4. Test Desktop Notification -> doesn't work anymore

Describe your Expected behavior

Desktop Notifications should work for an e2ee enabled setup.
