I got curious about what clang can do for the kernel. If it's worth it, we could switch over all builds.
But for doing that, I would need a couple of people testing some experimental builds and provide feedback.
Anyone who wants to test is welcome
Info needed in case you're testing:
CPU running the kernel on
RAM in the system running the kernel
System type (virtual machine or physical machine)
Distro (Debian based - anything that can do deb packages)
Testing procedure:
Get/Install the clang built kernel
Do a benchmark/test with the clang kernel
Get/Install the gcc built kernel
Do the same benchmark/test with the gcc kernel to get some reference values
