Background image/colour

Hi, this may have been asked already, but is there a way to add a background image/colour to the site rather than just the default white? I've seen someone asking about dark mode, and this is maybe an extension of that?

I know you can do it with github.io pages (see this discussion ) but not sure how to do it with the academicpages framework.
