OpenID Connect Claims Mapping - Apigee Edge Developer ID

I am using the openid_connect module. I've mapped a claim from my iDP as a custom attribute attached to the apigee developer. This works just fine. While configuring this in the openid_connect settings, I noticed that a claim can be mapped to "Apigee Edge Developer ID". What is this for? If i map a claim to this, what should happen? I tried setting it and could not find any evidence that it had any affect, so I'm either missing something (entirely possible) or this field really shouldn't be available for a claim mapping.
