Unable to change mqtt topic

Hi folks,
when running the sample pubsub from example provided by aws it works but when i changed the topic name to something else like restaurant/1/tenant/1 the code gets stuck at
await connection.subscribe("sdk/test/js", mqtt.QoS.AtLeastOnce, on_publish);
code doesnot subscribe and moved to next line.
Am I doing something wrong?

What is the IAM policy associated with your IoT thing (device)? If the policy's permissions are scoped down to particular topics, then switching them in your sample will require you to update the policy or the connect/subscribe/publish/etc... will fail.
