Can't log in through CAS with url path

If I'm at a URL that has a query in it, like https://maldive.ccnmtl.columbia.edu/accounts/login/?next=/graph/create/, or even just https://maldive.ccnmtl.columbia.edu/accounts/login/,

Clicking "log in through CAS" fails, bringing me to an "Object not found" page.

I'm not sure what the problem is yet. The forwarding URL is encoded like this:
http%3A%2F%2Fmaldive.ccnmtl.columbia.edu%2Faccounts%2Fcaslogin%2F%3Fnext%3D%2Fgraph%2Fcreate%2F

I can log in fine via https://maldive.ccnmtl.columbia.edu/
