typescript error for recursive schema with default

I have the following schema

import { z } from 'zod';

const MyTypeSchema = z.object({
  key: z.enum(['val1', 'val2']),
});

const baseEntry = z.object({
  title: z.string(),
  type: MyTypeSchema.default({ key: 'val1' }),
});

type Entry = z.infer<typeof baseEntry> & {
  children?: Entry[];
};

const EntrySchema: z.ZodType<Entry> = baseEntry.extend({
  children: z.lazy(() => EntrySchema.array()),
});

and am getting the following error

While this issue is similar to #3068, the proposed solution does not work for me.
