As of version 1.3.6, SPRNT can be compiled and run on Mac OS. It has been tested on
OS X El Capitan, all functionalities are correct.
1. As on Linux platforms, there is no graphic interface. You have to launch a "Terminal"
in order to compile and run SPRNT.
2. Prerequisite: XCode (make sure commandline functions are installed) and gfortran. A
good place to downland gfortran for Mac OS is
https://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/GFortranBinaries
After installation, make sure you can find both the compiler "gfortran", as well as
library libgfortran.a. Usually the library is located at /usr/local/gfortran/lib
3. Open a terminal and go to the directory where SPRNT code is located.
4. To run configure, you have to provide the location of the gfortran library by typing
export LDFLAGS=-L<location of libgfortran.a>; ./configure
For example, if libgfortran is at /usr/local/gfortran/lib, then configure should be
invoked as:
export LDFLAGS=-L/usr/local/gfortran/lib; ./configure
Note this is different than compiling SPRNT on a Linux platform.
5. On Mac OS, SPRNT will automatically download BLAS.
