When clicking an external link in an email, it opens the link inside the app shell rather than switching to my browser (Firefox for Android).

This is rather annoying as it replaces Freescout and offers no browser navigation etc.

Expected result: clicking an external link should open the link in your browser.

App version:
version 1.0.19
net.freescout.app

Adding target="_blank" doesn't make a difference either (nor would that fix links in emails).

Would this help? https://gist.github.com/sagrawal31/9004198ae56a58ff235ce0f1dd62362c

There is no plans to change it. Most likely it will stay as it is.

That's not very helpful though, it means I cannot open any link.

In addition to that, copy/paste also doesn't work, so we can't open in an new window either.

Is the app open-source somewhere? I'm happy to have a look myself because right the app just cannot be used (we need to go into the user account and copy paste things back and forth, not being able to switch between the ticket and the browser makes this impossible).

Ok, it's your full right not to make the apps open. Was just offering to help because the current behavior is unlike any other Android app and makes it unusable.

Hope at some point you'll reconsider just how critical of an issue this is for Android users.

Very happy about the rest of the platform though!

Hi, does completed mean it was fixed after all (in which case: many thanks!)?

Or is it a "won't fix"?

Won't fix for now.
