Is it possible to preserve (do not change/ignore/freeze) the cue numbers to match the original file, even if cue sections have been removed, or the original subtitle file has wrong cue numbers?

Context: it's for diff viewer purposes; I want to stop the cue numbers from being changed and flagged in diff viewer.
