good question!
I think “Posion” means “位置” ,like 'Home' ,'Desktop' etc. in China
places also means “地方”,
i‘d like to describe ‘London’ with ‘place’,but not ’Home folder‘
I'm a native english speaker, and 'Position' is a confusing name for this menu. Most linux distro's call this 'Places'. Place and position refer to similar concepts but are not the same thing: https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/67289/difference-between-place-and-position
'London', 'Outback Steakhouse', 'Home folder' are places.
'(100, 200)', 'horizontal', 'downward facing dog', are positions.
