Why you are running and want to be part of the KSC:

I have been involved across Kubeflow since 2020, and currently serve as lead of the Notebooks Working Group and maintainer of deployKF. My top priority is to bring more long-term contributors to the project and make the lives of existing maintainers easier!

Anything else you would like the community to consider when voting for you.

My vision of Kubeflow as an open-standard will drive everything I do on the KSC.
Specifically, I will work to grow Kubeflow as a neutral project that every vendor and user benefits from.

As a regular code contributor, my main areas of focus in 2024 have been Kubeflow Notebooks 2.0, improving the Kubeflow Manifests (specifically auth), and improving the Kubeflow website, but you will often see me around the other repos as well!

Outside Kubeflow, I am known for maintaining the Apache Airflow Helm Chart, and as of recently, external-secrets.

I have had the opportunity to work with @thesuperzapper in the Kubeflow Notebooks project for over five months, and during this time, I have seen firsthand the exceptional qualities that make him an outstanding team leader.

Mathew has excellent communication skills, which allow him to foster collaboration and maintain a productive and inclusive working environment. He consistently shares his knowledge and expertise with the team, teaching and mentoring in ways that elevate everyone's skills. His ability to break down complex concepts and explain them clearly is remarkable, making even the most challenging tasks approachable.

As a leader, Mathew excels in task management, ensuring that work is well-organized and clearly defined. His detailed task descriptions make it easy to understand expectations and priorities, enabling efficient progress. Additionally, his code review sessions are thorough and insightful, always focused on improving code quality while providing constructive feedback.

Mathew's leadership style is incredibly encouraging and motivating, inspiring me to stay committed to contributing to the Kubeflow project. His dedication and impactful guidance have been instrumental in the project's success, and I fully endorse him for the Kubeflow Steering Committee.

I want to endorse @thesuperzapper for the Kubeflow Steering Committee. Over these months, I've appreciated his presence in the community and I can see Mathew being truly the driving force behind the Notebook components of KF, but not limiting to that, also behind many improvements to make the life easier for new users of Kubeflow both as users but also potentially new contributors. I believe Mathew is a positive impact in the KF community already and I trust would be equally a positive influence with a seat in the KSC.
