If the goal is to also automatically compile the original intel library in order not to fall behind when not updating the project, compiling the test header files and running them as tests looks like a good start to me.
Depends mostly on how much being up to date on SEAPI is important, I'm guessing you don't need to recompile every time they launch a new processor.
