Sample Deployment Problem

I am trying to write and debug a W10 UWP IOT Console application for a Raspberry Pi project. I've downloaded your AppModelSamples-master collection for guidance and successfully compiled the CsFindStr project. When I try and deploy it (by pressing "Remote Machine") the deployment starts,
gets as far as "Updating the Layout" but terminates with the error "This app does not support the contract specified or it is not installed".

All other projects (non Console) deploy without error.

The SDK was updated this morning, and the target machine is running W10 Version 10.0.17134.1

Any guidance gratefully accepted.
