Migration to .NET 8

When will the agent be deployed with .NET 8?

I'm particularly interested in the framework performance improvements.

As I see in the doc, the .NET 8 is not yet supported.

Hi @clemlesne. At the moment, we do not have plans to deploy the agent with .NET 8. The end of support for .NET 6 is November 12, 2024, and we are going to migrate the agent to .NET 8 in advance of this date.

Seems like a duplicate of #4997?

We have reached EOL for .NET 6 LTS as of today, but it doesn't seem like a new agent utilizing .NET 8 is GA yet. https://github.com/microsoft/azure-pipelines-agent/releases/tag/v4.246.1
