The list of pronouns is currently fixed, and translated.

  • he/him
  • she/her
  • they/them
  • etc.

This is not working for multiple reasons:

  • it's almost impossible to translate these pronouns. IMHO it's impossible to translate all of them right, in all languages.
    • example: she/her, in french it's elle/elle, but it could be elle/sa - they/them has no fixed version in french.
  • People will ever want to defined themselves with their own word. The pronouns list exist today, but maybe tomorrow it can evolve.

I propose to change that with an open list, that every language can change, and a user can add their own version if they want.
