closed outlook during sync - all events deleted in both calendars

I closed outlook during a sync, and it showed errors. On re-sync it deleted all events, in both calendars. In google, I can restore events from google calendar trash. But if I sync again, the empty outlook calendar causes deletion of all google events again. Can you help? Any way to make sure it doesn't happen again?
