I'm using a Moto-Power-G 2021 phone. The problem started about three weeks ago, where I will download a podcast, as I've always done, and the podcast will play for about 20 or so minutes, then stop playing. When trying to restart the podcast, there will be an "error" symbol, with the message, "no longer available". So I must leave your app, go online and redownload the episode and play it on my computer.
Then my questions:
What Android OS version are you using? Android 12?
Can you share the podcast you are experiencing the issue with?
Did you subscribe to the podcast by searching for it in Podverse, or add it as a custom RSS feed?
Does it happen with multiple different podcasts, or only one?
You mentioned the error says "no longer available". Is that the exact text? I tried searching our code for that error message, but I'm not seeing it. Either I need to do more digging or the message you're seeing is slightly different.
User's reply:
I am using Android Ver 11, on this phone.
The podcast is, "No Agenda". This problem happens often with this particular p-cast, perhaps because it's usually over 150 Mb?
Most all of my subs were found via Podverse.
Problem occurs with other p-casts, namely "Grimerica & Grimerica Outlaw", both are larger files. But still happens randomly for others.
The "error" mentioned, is really the little triangle, with exclamation point that pops up on the play button, when I try to continue. Then when I mark the episode as "not played" so that I can redownload, it will say the episode is no longer available.
