Here, the totally long-awaited welcome post.

Welcome to Discussions, what we consider our official forum: the go-to spot to spark old-fashioned discussions and ask questions about project Valhalla.

Wait, Where Are We Again?

Now, if you’re not familiar with GitHub, you might find it odd that we’ve set up our "official forum" here of all places.

Nowadays, forums aren't as popular as they used to be (real-time chats are the new cool), so managing a separate platform to use as a forum in the name of nostalgia doesn't make much sense.

Additionally, most forums, even today, require a specific account to participate (that can be a bit of a hassle, I know).

So, if you don’t already have a GitHub account, signing up won’t turn your world upside down.
If you do, well, you'll agree that it’s more convenient to have everything in one place: I believe the forum should be closely tied to the project itself. This connects you directly to the repositories and contributors.

Of course, we also have a Discord server if you prefer a direct back-and-forth chat (just keep in mind that immediate responses aren’t always possible, whether you’re here or there).

Behaviour

I won’t bore you by repeating the usual community rules we’ve all been reading for a million years. Instead, I invite you all to behave like decent humans, while remembering some examples of positive and negative behaviors.

Positive contributions include:

• 💬 Effective communication: engaging in open and empathetic communication.
• 🌟 Respect: valuing each other’s opinions and experiences, offering constructive feedback.
• ⚖️ Responsibility: acknowledging mistakes and not hesitating to apologize when needed.
• 📚 Knowledge sharing: helping each other learn.
• ✊ Collectivism: focusing on "the greater good", not just what benefits individually.

Behaviors that hurt the community:

• 🧌 Harassment: trolling, personal attacks, unprovoked negativity or unwanted attention.
• 📮 Spamming: only a handful of folks like endless ads or being interrupted by random nonsense.
• 🧨 Disruptive behavior: disrupting useful discussions for the sake of causing drama.
• 👁️‍🗨️ Doxxing: sharing personal information without permission.
