All objects that are connected to the ground (groundenemies, items, eddie) are set one pixel too high. The lowest point of the sprites would be exactly one pixel in the ground as seen here with the e-tank https://i.ytimg.com/vi/mXadOurWJC4/maxresdefault.jpg (see how the lower black line from the e-tank and the highest black line from the tiles its standing on are on the exact same high). The same goes for bosses.
