I believe this is the normal behaviour for AG.

Other reasons:

This way the player will not know who is dead or not. We leave the count to the player instead.
You can't really know who is really spectating or not (unless we add a chat tag for that)

PD: Maybe we should add for AG a way to display who is dead in the scoreboard, much more simpler.
