Migrating from 0.8.3 to 1.1.0. Documentation?

Egads I just got hit with an upgrade from 0.8.3 to 1.1.0 and everything broke. Costing me a load of effort to update all my utilities. C'est la vie, that's the deal when using pre 1.0 tools. Mostly it's been easy enough, but I'm still a bit stuck on the change from write_value to write_entry and wish there was some simple doc or a wiki about it. Am downloading 0.8.3 now to try and compare the signatures and code ...

As it happens after a small but arduous examination of code and testing, the args are essentially the same but renamed, bar the reg_type which became an enum and no longer accepts a string. All good. The issue stands, that a small wiki note on migrating 0.8.3 to 1.0+ standards would be awesome for suckers like me who end up upgrading old code ;-).
