Messages not received when signal is open but not the top application / focused

• I have searched searched open and closed issues for duplicates.
• I am using Signal-Desktop as provided by the Signal team, not a 3rd-party package.

Overall summary

I am not receiving messages or its notifications when signal is open but I am using some other desktop app. When I specifically focus signal window or bring it on top, I can see new messages come in at that time.

Its like signal is not updating itself when not focused.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open signal
2. Open some other app like Chrome
3. Receive a message
4. No notification will appear
5. Now use Alt + Tab or click on Signal in taskbar to bring it at top and in focus
6. See the new messages appear now

Expected result

I would expect new messages to be fetched even when signal is not in focus and deliver me those messages as notification.

Actual result

When in background no messages appears. As soon as I focus the window I can see messages appear.

Sorry about this! Next time you experience this - could you please send debug logs from your Desktop and include a message timestamp for the message that was delivered only after you switched focus?

Aside from that - did you get that message on your phone while it wasn't shown on Desktop?

I have noticed that this issue has not occurred in the last few days, and I am receiving messages in the background as well. I'm not sure what has changed, but I am closing this issue since it is not reproducible now. Thank you for your time. I will reopen the issue if I start facing the problem again.
