Caprine requires an Internet connection

Hello, I am running MXLinux v23.3 on an Asus ExpertBook laptop and have no hardware errors that I know of...

I installed Caprine via a flatpak and it started the first time, but after that I always get the message stating that "You appear to be offline. Caprine requires an Internet connection." -- though I am online via a wifi connection.

I have searched for this issue both online and on this site but none of the situations or answers relate. Help?

Caprine is more of a website wrapper than an app. It loads messenger .com as a browser would, and it's customizations are mostly done through CSS and a few other tricks. Without an internet connection it cannot access message history, because it is not actually syncing message history to a local database; It is only displaying what messenger .com would display. Therefore it cannot work offline. Hope that helps.
