I don't know how else to describe this. When I open recent apps and go right back home there is just the wallpaper there and it does not react to gestures. Not sure if that is a problem with Android or with olauncher. Olauncher seems to reappear when I open another app and go back home. I tried attaching a video of olauncher disappearing, I hope that worked.

The same thing happens when using 3 button navigation and pressing the back button after opening the app switch screen

Exact same issue here, I seem to have linked that to my phone getting updated to Android 14 (Xperia 5 V), waiting to receive Android 14 on my other devices to confirm that.

I'm guessing all of you are using Android 14?

@tanujnotes I am. I checked on my old phone and it did not happen there

Nope... I'm on 13

I have the same issue, happens when I slide up from bottom to access open apps (and then you can slide sideways to re-open one), slide at-least once, and then slide back up to go back to home screen. Have to lock and unlock to get out of it. Android 14 for me.

This same thing happens to me too. I recently started using olauncher and really like it so hopefully this'll get fixed soon since it's quite annoying.

Hi, someone reported that turning off battery optimization for Olauncher fixed the issue for them. Please give it a try and let me know if it makes any difference.
Please note that Olauncher barely consumes any battery so this won't affect your battery life.

I disabled battery optimization and can still make olauncher disappear

I can also confirm it made no difference for me.

Is there any update on this? I'd look into this myself but I don't really know where to start

I'm not sure what's causing this and how to fix it.

You can try turning off the battery optimization for Olauncher (from your phone settings) and restarting the phone once. It has worked for some users.

Doesn't work unfortunately. This is what you mean right?
Well it's a small nuisance but no biggie in the end. Might automatically fix itself in the next update.
If there is any information I can send over please let me know.

I believe this covers 2 different issues with the same symptom.

For half of us, I think it started with Android 14. And this is the Android bug that causing this issue: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/296108449

I can confirm this on Android 12. Attached is a pretty reproducible way to produce the bug, but I believe that it sometimes also happened in other situations.
(Battery optimisation is already disabled.) https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/6a66baec-31e2-4707-ba22-e9eb64e43d5e

Different cause but same symptoms as #295, which I'm still experiencing. Pressing the home button 'brings back' the launcher

While I am no longer able to consistently reproduce this, I still have this happen from time to time. It did become less frequent over the last year but it has also happened after upgrading to Android 15

@the-codeboy If you haven't already, turning on Double tap to lock might help. It requires Accessibility permission, which might make the launcher a priority for the system.

I have. Been using (and loving) that feature for a year now. Can't remember the last time I used the power button

Can confirm that this is occasionally happens for me with Android 15 (NothingOS 3.0) on Nothing Phone 2A.
