I've noticed that my disks were spinning up very often without having anything really accessing NAS.
This behaviour have stopped at the moment, when I've disabled truenas integration with homeassistant. Would be great to have this plugin working without spinning up truenas harddrives.

I've noticed the same behavior. In fact, from when I've configured the integration, my disks never could do the spin down and the power consumption is around >10W for that. My disks are configured to spindown after 10 minutes.
See the following power consumption chart, I've installed this integration at 20:00 yesterday:
I can think that there is some reading of the pools or the disks that cause them to spin up and don't let them spin down.
This is a serious issue that must be addressed. At least allow to configure a flag and don't call the api that cause the spin up of disks so that all other data are still available, at least. So the user can choose.__
