Feature request: IPFS links submission and their list

I think that IPFS would get much more popular, if there is some usable index of interesting files, like torrents have.

What do you think about adding an IPFS files index created by users? It might be possible to implement it using OrbitDB and subnet based popularity (each link would have some popularity count that could be increased limited times by defined subnets)
