width properties on v-text-field

Hi!
I'm very new with Vuetify so apologies if this is a very basic question but since I could not find the answer I decided to just ask.
I'm working with the component and wanted to use the max-width property. The documentation says the following:
Sets the maximum width for the component. (string | number).

However it does not mention what the options are (pixels/percentages/rems). I tried percentages but it didn't seem to work. Is my assumption correct that the property only supports pixels?

If this information is available somewhere, please let me know because then I might have overlooked it.
