How to control volume with R1811 board in iMac 27” monitor conversion?

I’m doing a monitor conversion with my 2017 27” iMac with the R1811 driver board. MonitorControl will control both brightness and volume. BetterDisplay Pro won’t do volume control, saying that’s not enabled by DDC. Is there a some other setting to enable volume control in BetterDisplay Pro like in MonitorControl regardless of DDC?

Yes, you'll need to enable volume control under DDC Features... if it was disabled by auto-configuration. The board might not report the DDC capabilities correctly.

Ok, sorry, :) how do I do that?

I detect DDC capabilities, and Volume is disabled.

I go into the DDC Features... button and toggle on Volume (DDC) and Mute (DDC) and it still doesn't work.

(It's odd because the simpler, older Monitor Control does volume automatically.)

I am not sure what could be the issue. If it works with MonitorControl it should work with BetterDisplay unless some other setting does not prohibit the app from activating volume controls. Does brightness work via DDC (for the entire slider range)?

Volume is working now. I don't know what I changed from before. Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I missed something initially.

Also: brightness doesn't work right over the entire slide range. For Slider Range 0% to 60%, brightness increases 0% to 100%. Then brightness alternately decreases and increases from 50% to 100% from about 60% to 100% of slider range.
