Hmm... I'm unsure of the need for such short-term intervals; they can make your tests flakier. Could you describe your use case?

Why would they do tests flakier, if I am talking about case of using fixed mocked time (see #2)?

My usecase is testing scripts which have phases changed. They are declared in seconds, so they are simpler to use when minutes (but I just switched to minutes for now).

Anyway I used seconds as timeout in much of tests I was written before and they worked well without flakiness.
