Create and restore from backup
Create a backup of your current emby add-on profile files. This includes your "/addon_data/plugin.video.emby/" folder containing the add-on settings and the following databases: emby.db, MyVideosxx.db, MyMusicxx.db (if music is enabled).
You will need to setup your backup folder before you can backup your files. The option is found in the add-on settings > advanced tab. Once your folder is set, you can proceed accordingly.
You will need to restore from a same Kodi version backup (i.e. In Kodi Jarvis, restore using a Kodi Jarvis backup). You can re-apply your Emby add-on profile with the Kodi File Manager or by doing a Manual restore.
Open the Kodi File Manager.
In the first pane, navigate to your backup folder. In the second pane, enter the "Profile directory".
First copy the Database folder, followed by addon_data.
Exit Kodi. Copy the content of your backup folder into the Kodi "userdata/%profile%/" folder and overwrite the existing files.
- Restart Kodi.
- Update your libraries via launching Emby for Kodi > Manage libraries. This will bring the database up-to-date with your Emby server.
- [unavailable at this time] Optional / Cache your artwork by launching Emby add-on > cache artwork. This will force all the artwork contained in the database to be cached to Kodi for a better interface experience. The process can take some time depending on the size of the library.
