Consider some alternative methods of input. Player feedback suggests the default controls could be more intuitive. Some examples below.

  • Make "Shift" the "extreme modifier" key instead of the "Flare" key:
    Currently, Shift is the button for flaring. It may be more intuitive if the shift key instead encompassed all "extreme" movements, which would include: Diving, Flaring, and hard left and right turns. Shift + Forward would initiate a dive, Shift + Back would flare, Shift + Left/Right would do a hard left or right turn.
  • Make "Spacebar" or the "Jump Key" the "I want to go up" key:
    Currently, the spacebar makes the player go up only. It may be more intuitive to make the Spacebar make all of the player movements more gentle and efficient for gaining altitude, and otherwise make the general movements (left,right,forward,back) better for quick movements and high maneuverability.
