Some of the dependencies were too out of date making it difficult to contribute to the repository. No matter what, the build was failing with the old dependencies.

With the new dependencies, it should hopefully build now.
Also updated some gradle parts that were deprecated. https://docs.flutter.dev/release/breaking-changes/flutter-gradle-plugin-apply
