paper: Update from Google Docs, add refs #2571

Ported over the changes from the Google Docs suggestions and edits.

Changes

  • Added references for Mesa's foundational papers (@masad2015, @kazil2020) and Epstein's generative social science article (@epstein1999) in paper.bib.
  • Updated the Summary and Statement of Need sections in paper.md to include references to Mesa's key publications.
  • Improved clarity and consistency in descriptions of Mesa's architecture, agent management, and space implementations.
  • Refined explanations of discrete time and event-based simulation approaches, including hybrid time-event scheduling examples.
  • Removed the Reactive Programming section and adjusted minor grammatical inconsistencies across the text.
  • Enhanced the Applications and Ecosystem sections to reflect Mesa's growth and contributions from the broader community.

@projectmesa/maintainers please review.
