- We are Meany based but not Meany exclusive. Most of us happily go skiing with most anybody who will say "yes." Like Meany, we're a friendly and welcoming group.
- Most of the people mentioned are parents of school age children. None of us are anxious to create orphans. Our first priority is always a safe return, so we can ski another day. Having fun is somewhere close behind.
- Every skier, including some of our more exuberant ones, has a "no skier left behind" pace that we're willing to use. Without too much duress.
- An AIARE Level 1 (Avalanche) course is required for the Patrol Race. It's beneficial to take the course regardless. Being able to accurately read slopes and assess risk, and know when to stay home or pick a different route is highly valuable.
- Taking Dave & Art's Uphill Travel course is similarly valuable.
- Weather conditions permitting, I intend to spend at least one day per week logging miles and smiles on my AT skis.
